In short
- BrainBerry is a learning-games app for young children, set up and managed by a parent.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking, and we never sell data.
- Your child's name, avatar, class and progress are saved only on your device.
- A parent account is optional. If you create one, we keep your email address with our sign-in provider.
- You can delete everything at any time from the app's Parent Zone.
Who we are
BrainBerry ("we", "us") is published by Lokesh Kachchhawa. This policy explains what information the BrainBerry app handles and why.
Information saved only on your device
To personalise learning, the app saves the following on your phone or tablet. It is not sent to us:
- The child's first name or nickname, chosen avatar and class (Nursery, LKG or UKG)
- Stars, badges, levels played, learning progress and daily play time
- Settings such as the daily time limit, voice and music choices
Voice prompts use your device's own text-to-speech engine.
Information we process
| What | Why | Where |
|---|---|---|
| A random app user ID, created automatically and anonymously when the app first opens | To keep the app working and, if a parent signs in, to link the account | Google Firebase Authentication |
| A small account record (the user ID's role and the date it was created) | To run the app | Google Cloud Firestore |
| Parent email address and name, only if a parent chooses to sign in with Google, Apple or email | So the parent can sign in and keep the account on a new device | Google Firebase Authentication |
Our service provider, Google Firebase, processes this data on our behalf and may log technical information such as the IP address to keep the service secure. Data is encrypted in transit. See Firebase privacy and security.
Children
BrainBerry is designed for children aged 3 to 6 using the app with a parent. We do not ask children for personal information. The child's name entered during setup stays on the device. Account sign-in, settings and the Parent Zone are behind a grown-ups-only question. There are no ads, chat, social features, in-app purchases or links that take a child out of the app without passing the grown-ups question.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent or share personal information with anyone, except our service provider (Google Firebase) to run the app, or if required by law.
Keeping and deleting data
Information on the device stays until you delete it or uninstall the app. A parent can delete the parent account and all data from Parent Zone → Delete account and data in the app, or by following the steps on our account deletion page. We delete account data within 30 days of a request.
Your choices and rights
You can use the app without creating an account. You can ask us to access, correct or delete information about you or your child by writing to us. We will respond within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
